What it is

What is the Performance Health Benchmark?

A full check of how your body is working, built from two things and one report that connects them.

1 · Comprehensive bloodwork

A blood draw at a partner clinic near you, analysed at a UKAS accredited UK lab. 85 markers covering energy, thyroid, hormones, inflammation, digestion, blood sugar and nutrient status, read against optimal ranges as well as standard ones.

2 · The Blueprint health assessment

Unique to Performance Health, the Blueprint maps how you’re feeling across every body system: energy, digestion, sleep, recovery, mood, aches and pains. It means your results are never read as numbers on their own. They’re read in the context of you.

Your report brings the two together: your Benchmark Score, a system by system view of your health, the three priorities to focus on first, and where what your blood shows lines up with how you’ve been feeling. Then a 15 minute results call with me to talk it through.

Who it’s for

Who the Benchmark is for

Functional bloodwork suits anyone who wants to properly understand their health and get more from it. People order the Benchmark to:

Blood test vials
  • Get a proper baseline of their health, with a score to improve on.
  • Support athletic performance, training and recovery.
  • Understand flat energy, poor sleep or brain fog.
  • Make sense of hormone related changes.
  • Work out why they feel older than they think they should.
  • Decide what’s worth doing next, rather than guessing with supplements.

You walk away knowing where you stand and what to work on first. The Benchmark doesn’t diagnose anything. If a result needs medical attention, your report flags it clearly and directs you to your GP.

The difference

What makes functional bloodwork different

Most blood tests get compared on two things: how many markers you get, and what it costs. Neither tells you much about the part that changes what you do next, which is the interpretation.

Markers read together, in your context

A single marker on its own can mislead. Raised ferritin looks like plenty of stored iron until it’s read alongside your inflammatory markers, where it can be telling a different story. This analysis considers multiple markers at the same time, the relationships and patterns between them, and the person they belong to: your symptoms, goals, diet and training, captured in your Blueprint health assessment.

Optimal ranges, not just standard ones

A standard blood test answers a different question. It’s built to find disease, and it does that job well. This analysis asks how well you’re functioning, using tighter optimal ranges, because you can sit inside every standard range and still feel far from your best.

The why behind each result

Knowing a marker is high is data. What you can act on is knowing why it might be high, and whether it lines up with how you actually feel. Every finding in your report is explained in plain English, and the three priorities that matter most are pulled out for you, so you know where to start.

Me on the other end

Every Benchmark report is checked and signed off by me before it reaches you, and it comes with a 15 minute results call with me to walk through what your results show and answer your questions.

About me

Who reads your bloods

I’m Lou Nicholettos, a physiotherapist with an MSc in pain science, 21 years in practice, and the owner of Cornwall Physio, a multi award winning clinic recognised as one of the best in the UK. I’ve spent my career with the complicated cases: people who do everything right and still don’t feel well, whose standard bloods come back normal while they feel anything but. That work took me deep into functional bloodwork.

Your Benchmark report uses my Synergy Patterns® analysis: multiple markers considered at the same time, the relationships and patterns between them, and the person they belong to. It’s the same analysis I use with my own one to one clients, and I check and sign off every report before it reaches you.
